Join the MSR Lab!

As of Fall 2022, we are currently accepting applications for the following positions:

Doctoral Students

Are you interested in pursuing graduate study in our lab at the University of Pittsburgh? Dr. Galla is looking for creative, hard-working individuals with interests in mindfulness, especially as they relate to adolescence and emerging adulthood.

You might wonder what kinds of prior experiences are necessary to excel in our laboratory. Prior research experience is required. Experience conducting research in a psychology laboratory is particularly beneficial. Completing undergraduate courses in psychology and human development provides an intellectual foundation upon which your graduate coursework will build. Completing undergraduate statistics courses is also beneficial since our research relies heavily on quantitative methods. Prior training in data management and computer programming are a plus but are not required before graduate school. In your application be sure to demonstrate your reasoning and writing skills, as these skills are critical to conducting and communicating science.

For more information about graduate study in the lab, please contact Dr. Galla. And please see the Applied Developmental Psychology department website for further information on applying to the doctoral program.

Research Assistants

Our lab is always looking for undergraduate and master’s students to assist with ongoing research projects. If you are interested in joining the lab as a research assistant, please contact Dr. Galla. Interested students should plan to devote 8 to 10 hours per week in the lab. Research assistants will get hands-on experience in all stages of the research process.
